Krysti

Honolulu, Hawaii

Jade bracelet from her mom, who is from China.

"Be openminded. I wouldn't say I am a very adventurous person, but in times of growth, I am very open to trying new things."

"Aloha spirit is also very important, because being nice to people is heart of our Hawaiian culture.

Jade necklace from China that her mom gave to Krysti.Reminds her of family.

When I was little, as an anxious kid, the biggest thing that happened was when I found out that death was real. When I was little, I used to think ‘on when I get older, my parents will get younger and we will take care of each other’ when I was telling my parents that I am excited to take care of them, they said, ‘what are you talking about? You know that death is real, right?’ As a four year old, that opened up my brain.

My parents were super blunt as Asian parents. And I was a pretty introspective kid growing up. It feels gray and misty, like I am missing the sun a lot. Don’t take life for granted, cherish the good moments!

Tiger Lily

"In highschool, my friends used to say that I am like the orange color if tiger lily because my personality is vibrant:)

I used to read fairy books, and there was a fairy that wore tiger lily dress and it was so unique looking. I think it was a Tinker Bell book about a dress making fairy"
